Onamia Public Schools and the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office; in conjunction with Minnesota TZD Safe Roads Coalition and local first responding teams from the Onamia Community, are organizing a Mock Car Crash scene which will take place at the Onamia High School on the morning of Friday, May 10th 2024 for students in grades 10-12 at 9:15 AM.
Starting about 9:00 AM, you will need to access the school buildings from the north entrance of 125th Ave. for approximately 1 hour, as the road will be blocked off from the south side. This is only a drill, but will have sirens, emergency response vehicles, and a helicopter landing on 125th Ave.
Families of students in grades 10-12 were given additional information in the mail with their 3rd quarter report cards. This is not a required activity, and students that do not wish to participate will attend their regular classes. We will be offering mental health support for those in need.
